Des Moines police and rescue crews were called to a metro Family Dollar store Thursday morning. Police said a man was armed with a handgun, and did hit an employee in the head with the gun. My question is what else should be done to people who rob stores when they are armed? Should more punishment be given?

Around 4,800 pigs have been killed in a fire at a confinement facility in northeast Iowa.
Buchanan County firefighters were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The fire started in one confinement building and spread to another. Many accidents like this have been occurring, should people take more precautions so these things don't happen?

Buena Vista University will be experimenting with Apple iPads during the spring 2011 semester. The university, located in Storm Lake, IA, has about 1,100 students. The iPad pilot program is a part of an ongoing research project to evaluate the use of e-readers to support student learning.
